Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28, 1967. Julia Fiona Roberts is the 4th generation Roberts living in Atlanta. Her father took an early interest in theatre. While a student at Emory University he appeared in numerous productions on and off campus. In 1953, when he joined the Air Force in Biloxi, he was seen with Betty Lou Bredemus in Biloxi. The couple got married in 2005 and welcomed their first child, Eric Anthony in 1956. Walter attended Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana following his departure from the Air Force in the year 1957. In 1960, the family relocated to Decatur Georgia where Walter began working at Atlanta's Academy Theater and the Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. Walter along with Betty Lou started production in 1964 on the local children's Saturday morning television program Bum Bum and His Buddies, which they funded themselves. The Actors and Writers Workshop was founded in 1964 and ran for six years. Lelisa Billingsley who is also referred to as Lisa, was born in the year 1965. Julia Billingsley followed in 1967.
