April Lockhart

April Lockhart was born on July 4th, 1995. in seventh grade. She began playing guitar and piano lessons, sparking her interest in music writing. At the age of 12, she composed her first single, Different. When she was 14, April devoted much of her time singing and writing songs. She began writing alongside her father at home in NY and LA within a short time. April began to include various other topics relevant to the song, which she called the Take my Hand song for some close friends, like peer pressure disabilities and teen suicide. Lockhart works in partnerships at the well-known clean beauty brand Ilia and is also a lifestyle influencer who has a growing fan base. Since she was born without a left hand, she is a major part of herself. However, it's not her entire story. The profile of Lockhart on Twitter does not conceal the fact that she is disabled, but neither does it concentrate on the fact that she is disabled. The message is? That we all contain multitudes that our identities are complex and that we are beyond our physical bodies. Lockhart says in a video interview with Lockhart in a video interview "I don't think that is what defines me. It's not my intention to influence disability because I have plenty to offer." It doesn't impact my daily living. I still do all my normal activities and have adapted to my disabilities. However, I also consider it to be a vital component of my life. Lockhart, a real source of inspiration for anyone who wants to be self-accepting she is on a long road to reach this. She admits that she has had periods where she felt uncomfortable in the way she dressed and showed her arms. She dresses according to her preferences and posts photos of herself in the outfits she picks out on social media. What makes self-love so appealing to her is that it's not a destination. This is true for everyone, regardless of their insecurity. I think it is important to be surrounded by people who can really know the person you are.
