Katherine Heigl discusses her experiences as a child living in a white bubble affected the way she raised her family of multiracial origins. "I inquired of my sister, Meg to tell me if she'd been treated in one manner while going out with us parents and in a different manner when she went out alone without them. She replied: 'Oh yeah, all the times! Heigl told her parents this made her realize how foolish she was. According to the actor she grew angered. But, she was determined to channel this energy into helping her adopted girls. Heigl has a four-year old son and a 13-year-old husband, Josh Kelley. In 2009, they welcomed Nancy Leigh (12), a daughter from South Korea, and Adalaide (8, a black child) in 2012.
